Power of Demand
What is the purpose of demand ?
Eugene Schwartz, considered to be the greatest copywriter that ever lived, often said that “the greatest mistake people make is trying to make demand”. Demand is not something you can manufacture, demand is not something you can force upon the public. Demand is when there is already an existential need for a particular offering, irrespective of whether that demand is being realised.
Often, this demand can be mocked by people who fail to see what’s beyond the horizon, but that doesn’t make it any less truer. When Jeff Bezos starting expanding Amazon with the vision to be the one store that had everything, he was laughed at. But just because Bezos recognized the need for something others thought to be impossible, doesn’t mean that the need wasn’t there.
Don’t underestimate the power of need and demand.
