Find a Co-Founder

Starting a business takes more than just hard work and passion. It takes the inspiration and skills of a co-founder. A single individual can never be well versed in all aspects of a business in the way that a co-founding team can. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, the classic dynamic duo, each played to their own strengths when starting Apple. Wozniak was the technical brain behind the device, Jobs was the creative and business minded individual. This created a healthy balance.

Even VCs are more likely to invest in a startup that has a founding team, not a founding individual. Assuming you have a clear decision-making hierarchy, 3 co-founders is also often not too much. Co-founders can provide the skills you lack, and take you further than you ever expected you’d go.
